Walking test

The UKK walk test is intended for adults aged 20–65. It is used to assess respiratory and cardio-vascular system performance, i.e. oxygen uptake. The test is excellent for group testing. During the test, you are required to walk two (2) kilometres as quickly as possible at an even pace. The UKK walk test shows your aerobic fitness in relation to your health and functional ability. It also provides a good foundation for exercise counselling.

Aerobic fitness reveals the most information about the connection between health and fitness. The walk test also provides information about your ability to move.

Before the test:

Eat lightly.
Try to have a good night’s sleep and avoid drinking alcohol for 24 hours before the test.
Avoid drinking caffeine (coffee, tea, energy and cola drinks).
Arrive at the testing location approx. 15 min. before the scheduled testing time (to pre-fill a form).

Wear outdoor clothing and outdoor shoes suitable for the weather.
Also bring something to drink or a drinking bottle, a towel and washing equipment.
